Free Enterprise is a live action, half-hour television program designed to meet the educational and informational needs of children aged 13-16. Free Enterprise tells the story of formerly incarcerated individuals who dream of starting their own businesses, a path they've decided to take after struggling to find consistent employment because of their criminal backgrounds. With the help of business experts and mentors, we'll follow these budding entrepreneurs as they turn a low-capital investment into an on- going business – one that provides a steady income, and, more importantly, self-reliance and self- respect. Hosted by Ryan Smith, and featuring entrepreneur Brian Hamilton as our resident business expert, Free Enterprise will demonstrate what it takes to build an action plan for business success. Viewers will learn more about the building blocks of creating a business - from inspiration to execution, basic budgeting, banking, marketing, hiring, and more. Through it all, Free Enterprise will demonstrate the importance of second chances while making entrepreneurship accessible to everyone.

RASHARD REALIZES HIS POTENTIAL 

On this episode of Free Enterprise, we follow the story of Rashard Johnson who was arrested and incarcerated for breaking and entering at only 18 years old. Today, Rashard wants to provide for his young daughter and build a new tiling business. With the help of entrepreneur and business creator Brian Hamilton, Rashard learns how to manage his finances. He also learns valuable marketing lessons from local business owner Lawrence Carpenter. Rashard is able to conquer his fear of rejection and show off his tiling skills.

BRAD GETS A FRESH START

On this episode of Free Enterprise, we follow the story of Brad Maggio who was first incarcerated at only 19 years old and has struggled with narcotics for years. Today, Brad is sober and wants to start a pressure-washing business. With the help of entrepreneur and business creator Brian Hamilton, Brad gets a lesson on how to manage contracts and customer expectations. Along the way, Brad learns how to save money on startup costs, discovers valuable marketing skills, and creates his own video advertisements with content creator JD Roberson. Brad is well on his way to realizing his dream of starting his own business.

TOM DREAMS BIG

On this episode of Free Enterprise, we follow the story of Tom Meshach, a formerly incarcerated father of two young boys who’s finally ready to start a new chapter of his life with a new lawn service business. After being arrested when he was only 16, Tom has struggled with a cycle of crime, incarceration, and parole. Today, with the help of entrepreneur and business creator Brian Hamilton, Tom is ready to do whatever it takes to get his new business up and running and be the role model his children need. Tom takes steps to overcome his fear of meeting new customers, receives some much-needed help repairing his equipment, and learns the value of investing in himself.

DEREK GETS A SECOND CHANCE

On this episode of Free Enterprise, we follow the story of Derek Francis who got tangled up with the wrong crowd and was incarcerated for possession. Today, Derek has reformed his life, found a new fiancée named Jessica and wants to start a mobile auto repair business. With the help of entrepreneur and business creator Brian Hamilton, Derek develops his business ideas and discovers new ways to retain customers. He also learns valuable marketing lessons from media consultant Joe Woolworth.

ROSEMARIE MAKES THE CUT

On this episode of Free Enterprise, we follow the story of Rosemarie McDonald. As a formerly incarcerated single mom, Rosemarie has struggled to provide for herself and her teenage daughter. Today, with the help of entrepreneur and business creator Brian Hamilton, Rosemarie is learning new skills to help make her online clothing business a success. Brian shows Rosemarie how to organize her inventory and he introduces her to a professional clothing designer for a crash course on how to create her own clothing. Later, Brian gives Rosemarie some helpful advice courtesy of a surprise focus group. With her confidence running high, Rosemarie feels like her dreams of financial freedom could finally be within reach.

ROB FLIES HIGH

On this episode of Free Enterprise, we follow the story of Robert Teasley, who fell into a cycle of substance abuse and crime to maintain his addictions. Today, Robert is sober and ready to chart a path to financial freedom by starting his own drone photography business. With the help of entrepreneur and business creator Brian Hamilton, Robert discovers ways to make his new business appeal to local clients and he builds important new relationships with potential clients. Robert also receives excellent advice from fellow drone pilot and mentor John Gibbs. With his newfound confidence, Robert finally feels like his past is behind him and his family can be proud of him once again.

CLAUDIA FINDS REDEMPTION

On this episode of Free Enterprise, we follow the story of Claudia Shivers who was incarcerated for tax fraud. Today, Claudia has learned the error of her ways, repaired broken relationships and wants to take her new coffee business to the next level. With the help of entrepreneur and business creator Brian Hamilton, Claudia hopes to get her coffee into several local retail stores. She also learns valuable web marketing from media consultant Marty Martin. Through her coffee business, Claudia finally feels like her life is back on the right track.
