BURBANK, CA (January 27, 2016) – Litton Entertainment announced today that United States Secretary of the Interior, Sally Jewell, will be featured in the Saturday, January 30th episode of Daytime Emmy® award-winning travel and adventure series Rock the Park. Taking place in her home state of Washington’s Mount Rainier National Park, Secretary Jewell continues her mission to raise awareness of and educate youth about the country’s beloved national parks. Airing during Litton’s Weekend Adventure block of programming on ABC Stations and produced in partnership with Tremendous! Entertainment, the series taps into America's love affair with national parks and follows hosts Jack Steward and Colton Smith as they come face-to-face with some of the most awe-inspiring places on Earth.

In this Saturday’s episode, inspired by the beauty and majesty of Mount Rainier, Jack and Colton will learn about Secretary Jewell’s passion for the National Parks while experiencing a breathtaking and challenging hike on Mount Rainier.

Not only is this year a celebration of the National Park Service’s Centennial Anniversary but it also marks the launch of the “Every Kid in a Park” initiative. The goal of the initiative is to get all 4th graders and their families to experience the places that are home to the country’s national treasures, rich history and vibrant culture, free of charge.

"As a child, some of my earliest memories were from hiking and camping at Mt. Rainier National Park. It's a great example, among many others, of the natural, cultural and historical wonders we share with the world in national park sites across the country,” said Interior Secretary Sally Jewell. “As we celebrate the centennial of the National Park Service, I encourage all Americans to introduce new generations to these treasures, so get up, get out there and find your park!"

Rock the Park was a recent recipient of a Parents’ Choice Silver Honor and was referred to as “a visual feast” by Emmy® award-winning television producer and writer, Gina Catanzarite, in the series’ review.
